A PR professional puts together a video begging a reporter to cover her client. As a communications professional, this disgusts me.
If I pitch a reporter and he/she a) says no or b) doesn’t respond (which happens all the time. Just respond back with, “No, thanks.” - but that’s another post in itself), I take that to mean the reporter is not interested at this time. If after repeated emails (which are all personalized, targeted pitches - in which the information I’m sending to the reporter is of interest due to the reporter’s beat/coverage and not some blind attempt) the reporter still hasn’t responded, then I leave it alone and move on.
Making a video begging the reporter for coverage is absurd. Add this to long list of why reporters don’t like PR people. And I don’t blame them
